The project analyzes the ecosystem functions associated with the recovery process of the Oeste Waste Rock Pile in Carajás, focusing on interactions between plants and animals, especially in pollination and seed dispersal processes. The proposal investigates how these interactions contribute to the reestablishment of ecological functioning in the restored area, integrating the selection of native plant species from the Carajás cangas, the rescue, management, and introduction of native bees, and the monitoring of pollinating and dispersing fauna. By linking applied ecological research and restoration practices, the project contributes to the technical improvement of environmental recovery and the strengthening of ecological functions in areas impacted by mining activity.
