With a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and a degree in Chemistry from the Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA), Helena Pereira Almeida holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Tropical Regions from ITV DS, with an emphasis on sustainability in mining and water resources. She works in the monitoring of dam effluents and water quality. She is currently a doctoral student in Environmental Sciences at UFPA and a fellow in the Environmental Geology and Water Resources group at ITV DS, carrying out research into water sustainability indicators.
