
Amilton Sinatora
PhD in Mechanical Engineering
Amilton Sinatora is a metallurgical engineer from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a master’s and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). He is a retired professor from USP’s Polytechnic School and served as Innovation Manager at Villares Rolls. He was a full researcher and, since 2019, has been the Scientific Director of ITV MI.
His research focuses on wear and friction in mechanical components, with applications in mining, railways, and diesel engines. He has coordinated several academic and industrial projects, supervised 23 master’s thesis and 17 doctoral dissertations, and has extensive experience in technology transfer, innovation management, and researcher training. He is also dedicated to science education and outreach.
