Markus Gastauer

He holds a post-doctoral degree in Ecology (General Biology Department, Federal University of Viçosa, UFV, 2012-2016), PhD in Botany (Federal University of Viçosa, conclusion 04/2012), Master's Degree in Entomology (University of Bonn, Germany, in 2005, revalidation by UFV), and major in Agronomy (2005) from the University of Bonn. He has published several scientific papers in national and international journals and has co-supervised three post-graduate programs (Agroecology in the Brazilian Savanna at State University of Minas Gerais, Botany and Ecology at Federal University of Viçosa), is a reviewer of national and international journals, and a lecturer in the "Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Tropical Regions" program at the Vale Institute of Technology. He has experience in publications as a team leader in several scientific and extension projects and is fluent in Portuguese, English, and German.

He is currently an Adjunct Researcher of the research line "Environmental Reclamation", assigned to ITV Sustainable Development, working in the monitoring of recovery of degraded areas. Research lines: biodiversity patterns, restoration ecology, soil-plant interactions, succession and dynamics of Brazilian forests.
