Valente Matlaba

He holds a major in Economics (2000) and a Master's Degree in Economics (2003) from the School of Economics, Business and Accounting at the University of São Paulo (FEA-USP), São Paulo/SP, Brazil, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Waikato Management School, University of Waikato (New Zealand), with a sandwich course (September-October, 2011) as a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences, University of Groningen (The Netherlands). He was the Coordinator (04/19/2016 to 03/17/2017) and Deputy Coordinator (01/01/2014 to 04/18/2016) of the Professional Master's Degree "Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Tropical Regions" at the Vale Institute of Technology (ITV), where he has been an assistant researcher and lecturer in the Master's Degree program since December 2012. He has experience in Regional and Urban Economy, mainly working on the subjects of Sustainability of Mining, Communities and Statistical & econometric models.

He is currently an Assistant Researcher of the research line "Social-economics & Sustainability", assigned to ITV Sustainable Development, in Belém do Pará.
