He holds a major in Biological Sciences (License) at the Federal University of Bahia (2005), a Master's Degree (2009) and Ph.D. (2015) in Science (Botany) from the University of São Paulo. He did part of the sandwich doctoral program at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago (USA) between 2013 and 2014. He worked in the public education network of the Government of the State of Bahia as a high school teacher in 2005. He has experience in the area of Botany, with emphasis on Taxonomy, mainly working in the following subjects: Eriocaulaceae, Systematics, Morphometry, Nomenclature, Molecular Phylogeny, and Flora. He is a reviewer of manuscripts in national and international journals, such as Acta Botanica Brasilica, Phytotaxa, and Rodriguésia.
He is currently an Assistant Researcher of the research line "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services", assigned to ITV Sustainable Development, serving in works with the Flora of Carajás, phenology, and rare, endemic and endangered species.
