This line includes research related to mobile vehicles that will operate in the autonomous mines, as well as the development of robotic mechanisms and systems dedicated to the tasks of inspection, monitoring, and assistance of processes and maintenance of mining equipment. Among the topics addressed in this line of research are: operator assistance tools and augmented reality systems; location and navigation systems for vehicles and mobile robots; autonomous and teleoperated systems dealing with communication delays; remotely piloted aircraft systems; command of robotic manipulators to perform specific tasks such as belt replacement, truck tire cleaning, replacement, railroad car repair; cooperative control strategies for heterogeneous robots, such as terrestrial and aerial robots working together in the performance of a complex task; development of systems dedicated to the mapping of mines and caves.
