Researchers develop studies and methodologies suited to mining processes (open-pit and underground). Their approach, with a technical, economic, and sustainability focus, takes into account the geomechanical behavior of rocks, ore grades within the mineralized body, recoveries rates, and production costs. The group also investigates the improvement of mining operations through the use of computer techniques.
