Laurindo de Salles Leal Filho
He has a major in Mine Engineering at Federal University of Minas Gerais (1984), master's degree in Metallurgical and Mine Engineering at Federal University of Minas Gerais (1988), doctorate in Mineral Engineering at University of São Paulo (1991), and post-doctorate in the Imperial College of Sciences and Technology (1994), working with the research group "Mining and Environment." Lecturer of the Mine and Oil Engineering Department at Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo since 1990, obtaining the associate professorship in 1999, and the position of full professor in 2001. Work in the following areas: treatment of mining ores and effluents, transport and interface phenomena applied to ore treatment, development of flotation reagents, and recovery of areas degraded by the mineral industry. Leader of the research group "Ore Treatment" at University of São Paulo. Elected Head of the Mining and Petroleum Engineering Department of EPUSP for the period 2010-2013. Work at University of South Australia (Ian Wark Research Institute) as an adjunct research professor for the period 2011-2013. Since November 2013, he took a leave from University of São Paulo to work as a scientific director of Vale Institute of Technology (ITV).
