Santelmo Vasconcelos

He has a major in Biological Sciences (2008), a Master's Degree in Genetics (2011) and Ph.D. in Plant Biology (2015) from the Federal University of Pernambuco, with passages in the Missouri Botanical Garden (Saint Louis, MO, USA) and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Richmond, Surrey, UK). He works mainly in research related to the evolution of plant groups, has experience in Cytogenetics and Cytotaxonomy, Phylogenetic Systematics, and Plant Molecular Biology. Since the post-doctoral degree at the Vale Institute of Technology - Sustainable Development (ITV-DS), he has been actively participating in genetic diversity studies of the components of flora and invertebrate fauna of the Brazilian Amazon.


He is currently an Assistant Researcher of the research line "Environmental Genomics", assigned to ITV Sustainable Development.
