Ana Maria Giulietti

She has a major in Natural History at Philosophy College of Recife (1967), Master's Degree and Doctorate in Botanic (Angiosperm Taxonomy) at University of São Paulo (1976), Full Professorship at the University of São Paulo (1984), and Post-Doc at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, England (1981, 2005). A retired Full Professor at the Botanic Department of the Institute of Biosciences, USP, and a retired Full Professor at the State University of Feira de Santana/BA. CNPq senior fellowship researcher; Full Member of Biological Science Area of the Brazilian Academy of Science; Associate Researcher of the Royal Botanical Gardens of Kew. She has expertise in Botanic, with an emphasis in Angiosperm's Taxonomy, acting primarily in the following subjects: Dryland flora (Caatinga) and rocky fields flora (campos rupestres) plants’ diversity, taxonomy, and evolution of Eriocaulaceae. She has more than 100 published scientific papers, six books, and more than 30 book chapters. She supervised more than 60 master’s and doctoral theses and is currently a permanent Professor of the Botanic Post-Graduate Program of UEFS. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Emilio Goeldi Museum of Pará Journal, editor of taxonomy area of the Sitientibus Biological Science Series journal of UFES and of Brazilian flora of Phytotaxa journal. Ad-hoc consultant of CNPq, FAPESB, and reviewer of papers for Taxon, Systematic Botany, Brittonia, Phytotaxa, Phytokeys. Acta Botanica Brasílica, and Acta Amazônica.

She is currently an Associate Researcher of the research line "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services", assigned to ITV Sustainable Development.
