Vale keeps a permanent commitment to the generation of science, technology, and innovation. Due to this commitment, through its Institute of Technology, it adopts a pioneering initiative in the private sector, implementing the Professional Master's Degree in "Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Tropical Regions." The course has an interdisciplinary scope, and its main objectives are: to provide a systemic and integrated view of the use of natural resources; train qualified professionals to address issues related to the use of natural resources and meet the new demands of society for sustainable development; and contribute to the generation of technological innovation based on the systemic view of sustainability of natural resources.
Professionals of companies (especially from Vale, its subsidiaries and affiliates) interested in the exploitation of natural resources, as well as for graduates in areas related to natural resources (biologists, agronomists, chemists, physicists, geologists, engineers, computer scientists, oceanographers) and to sustainability (environmental engineers, meteorologists, geographers, economists, sociologists, anthropologists) or related areas. The course aims to train professionals interested in acquiring an interdisciplinary view on the sustainable use of natural resources.
